Bängditos theater

BÄNG is the primal explosion which accompanied the birth of the Bängditos theater in 2005.

BÄNG stands for the moment when we - Heike Gronholz, Olivier Capelier, Tom Lanzki and Nailor Holmsten - decided to found our own theater on the basis of the productions "Ente gut - Alles gut" and "The Guardian Angels," our years of experience with other theatres and projects, and our enthusiasm for open-air productions.

WHY ?

Coz we love to draw large-scale pictures outside and in the streets, to create spectacular effects with fire, to irritate, to provoke, to bring people to laugh, to be astonish and to scream. It is fun to fill the open room with deafening silence, nerve-racking explosions, sizzling smoke, fervent singing, eerie closeness, upside-down points of view, mystical moments, charismatic anecdotes, enthusiastic play, acrobatic weightlessness, loud roughness, chaotic anarchy, unbounded confrontation, moving moments, caricatured situations … That´s why!

Europe and much further...

Since then, we have performed in almost all corners of Europe as well as in Canada and South Corea. We have made some hundred thousands of kilometers with and without our vehicles, with tons of materials, with all our energy and with a lot of things we got back from the audience.

can this be enough?

No, of course not. We want more. More travelling around the world, more shows out in the streets, more productions to be set up. That's why we keep on working on other projects in public spaces, that's why we work with young artists in new projects. We want to develop us and our work. We want to continue to apply our energies to further projects in public spaces, and we still want to make a striking, multi-faceted and unique contribution to the genre of street theater. In spite of all dificulties!

BÄNG is the expression of an attitude to life that combines seriousness about work, freedom in creation, and delight in play. BÄNG is Bängditos theater.
